In October 2024 we will launch a big re-design of our core user experience for iOS. Our focus has been to simplify and make it much easier to plan and focus in Tiimo. The core of our design language still remains the same - we’ve just tidied it up a bit.
We know our users like to get a heads up which is why we’ve put together this page for you to get an overview of what to expect.
These are the changes to expect
The updates are mainly on the focus and plan page - and we also simplified how to make plans in Tiimo.
[Image description: (from left to right) The focus page, plan page and edit task drawer in the new update] Better focus experience
- We have added a clearer pause/resume button.
- We made it easier to add extra minutes to your task.
- Sub tasks will stand out more as separate entities making it easier to click on them.
Planning made easier
- We have simplified the information available on task cards, making them a bit smaller for better overview.
- The header is simplified showing the current day. You can still expand to see a weekly overview by clicking on the week day in the header. Navigate between days by swiping left and right, or by clicking the arrows at the top.
- We moved planned tasks to the top of the page, and anytime tasks at the bottom to help get an overview of the tasks with a committed time.
- To make it even more satisfying to complete tasks, there is a new ‘done’ section on the plan page, where task swoop over when they are completed.
- (*Coming in a later version) We want to make it much easier to manage plans by switching tasks around using drag and drop. This has been very requested, and we want to listen to that!
Editing and viewing tasks
- You can still do the same things as before - just in a simplified flow. We made a clearer hierarchy and structure of the settings of a task.
- We simplified how to choose visuals for a task and made it a lot more fun!
- Sub-tasks are now part of the view for a task, and you can check them off here.
- We simplified repetitions, making it easier to get an overview of the choices available.
- You can delete a task from viewing the task.
Simpler naming
- We’ve simplified the naming in the app, meaning all plans in Timo will be called tasks. This is what you would previously would know as an activity.
- Tasks can have subtasks, which is what you previously would know as checklists.
- Both tasks and sub tasks work exactly the same as you’re used to, and you’ll still have them all in your account and profiles.
Routines will be migrated to tasks
We’ve heard from many users they find it very difficult to plan in Tiimo which is why we’ve made the decision to simplify this. This means routines will be migrated into tasks going forward.
[Image description: (from left to right) A morning routine in Tiimo before the update and a morning task with subtasks after the migration and update]
- Starting in October, all your routines will be migrated into what we’ll now call "tasks" as part of the update coming in mid-October.
- Don’t worry—none of your data will be lost. Your routines will keep their names, durations, and tasks, but those tasks will now be subtasks within your main tasks.
- If you are one of users affected by this, we understand this is a big change. We’re here to help, and if you have any questions or need help, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at hello@tiimo.dk.
When will this happen?
The update will happen mid October 2024, but keep an eye on your App store and read in the update description to be sure. If you don’t want the change to happen automatically, make sure to disable this for your apps - read how to do this here. Then you are able to update when you are ready for it.
More info on the release version will come. Stay tuned!
